Escapee & Passport America discount is good for water & electric only, and only for 2 nites. First impression is good, but once you're here for a while you realize just how this park is deteriorating. Recent new owners are not RV'ers and do not "get" it as far as the needs or wants of RV'ers, and they really could care less. They apparently don't hire "outsiders" to help with cleaning and upkeep except maybe grass mowing because some of the facilities need some work and serious cleaning. Laundry room was clean "down the middle" but when you really looked, it was scuzzy around the machines which meant the floors are not cleaned around/under/beside them. Large amounts of dead bugs everywhere in laundry room and even in fromt of the entrance door to laundry room. Yuk! Grass burrs were HORRIBLE both for us and the dog. Lots of rules and regulations posted all over the place but nobody seems to enforce them. I guess we would stay here again if we had to, but would probably try to find something else first.
Good Sam Park. We really liked it. Friendliest greeting we've ever received in an RV park. VERY pet friendly too. Large shaded pull thrus. Easy access to the interstate but you can't hear it. We would definitely stop here again.
Nice park for the most part. Some sites are nicer than others, but those seem to be taken by seasonals, which left the so-so sites for those just traveling thru. It served the purpose, and we would stay there again. Compared to the prices of some of the other parks in Sioux Falls, this place is great for the price.
Decent little campground but a bit overpriced. Easy on & off I-74 but far enough away so you didn't hear the interstate noise. Site size was fine. Pretty little fishing pond and a nice mowed path thru the woods. Would definitely stop here again.
The full hookup part was a concrete slab, angled so badly that we drug the bottom of the motorhome and the hitch getting into site. No grass - just gravel and a small tree. Sites sit downhill from a bar so at 2 pm the noise was horrid. There is a nice grassy shaded campground but no sewer and probably low electric voltage. Would probably stay here again if necessary since there isn't too much to choose from in this part of the country. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Cable was nice though. Pool was closed and apparently had been for quite some time.
Would not stay here again unless it was an absolute emergency. This park is a "Coast to Coast 5 Star Resort" according to the plaque at the most impressive park entrance and from first appearances, it looked like that's what we were pulling into. However, once around the bend and we could actually see the sites, it was a totally different story. Tiny little sites so narrow that if you could get your awning out at all, you'd have the neighbor's sewer and electric/water hookups under your awning. Out of 525 sites, only 20 were 50 amp. There were big rigs in here but there was barely room. Main roads were fine but the paths the sites were on were way too narrow for comfortable manuevering. Tons of kids.
We love this place! We used Passport America so price is low. The Gustafson's live on site and are warm and friendly people. They've done a great job in 2 years turning this land into a wonderful campground. We planned to stay a week but just went up today and extended it another week. It will be hard to leave such a great place. Sites are large. Utilities are good. Nice fire ring & grill at each site. Ice cream every night! Local musicians drop in now and again to sit on the porch and pick and sing. We're having a great time and would love to spend a whole summer here.
Beautiful and friendly park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Level, gravel sites are a good size, and each has a small patio and long enough for big rigs. Great area for walking and exercising the dog. Nice playground for the kids. Individual shower rooms with locking doors are first class. Extremely clean and well maintained park. There's even a stationary tub on the outside of the bath house for washing or rinsing off muddy or dirty stuff not suitable for washing indoors - the dog maybe? We saw someone doing just that. What a great idea! Convenient to both Camping World, Wal-Mart and Cracker Barrel. We've told several people about this park since our visit and will most definitely tell more. We'll also stay here whenever we're in the area. You won't be disappointed with this one.
Definitely not a destination campground. It was dusty ,which means muddy if it rained. Sites were very closely spaced on narrow streets but we were able to get in and out with our 35' motorhome with the car still hooked up. Lots of road noise. Dogs running all over the place and dog poop everywhere so apparently management does not enforce pet rules. Mostly trailer trash with a bunch of kids and 2 or 3 dogs chained up outside all the time. Atmosphere was a bit unsettling. It served a purpose for us since we had an appointment at Camping World right across the street but we would not stay there again. Highly overpriced even at $22.00 per night.
